Tucked into the pine forests of Evergreen at elevation, Hiwan Country Club offers one of the most authentic mountain private club experiences along the Front Range. Designed in 1963 by William F. Bell, the championship course reflects Bell’s philosophy of working with natural terrain rather than reshaping it. Rolling fairways weave through dense evergreens, subtle elevation changes demand thoughtful club selection, and small, well-protected greens reward accuracy over distance.
The atmosphere is distinctly different from metro Denver clubs. Summer temperatures are cooler. Wildlife sightings are common. The pace feels relaxed but intentional. Hiwan feels rooted in tradition while remaining deeply family-focused.
All Hiwan membership categories extend privileges to the primary member, spouse or spousal equivalent, and dependent children under age 23 who reside at the member’s address. Dues are subject to change with prior notice.
Golf Membership
Golf Members receive full access to the 18-hole championship course along with all sports and social amenities. While the practice range is accessed for a fee, members enjoy indoor and outdoor dining, an active social calendar, the resort-style pool area, tennis and pickleball courts, and fitness classes.
Junior activities are robust and include summer camps, supervised play, junior golf programs, tennis, pickleball, swim team, and swim lessons. The club supports both recreational family programming and more competitive development opportunities.

Cart fees are $13.50 per person for 9 holes and $27 per person for 18 holes. An annual private cart program is available for $875, with additional private cart registration and storage fees applicable.
Pool and tennis guest rates apply per visit.
Junior Golf Programming
Hiwan has invested heavily in junior development, offering structured programs for various age groups:
Little Rascals (Ages 4–5)
Range Rovers (Ages 6–7)
Top Gun Golf (Ages 8–14)
PGA Junior League (13 and under) — $99 payable to PGA Junior League at registration
Additional junior golf program fees range from $175 to $450 annually depending on program level.
The club’s mountain setting, paired with strong junior programming, makes it particularly appealing for families living full-time in Evergreen or foothills communities.
Club Culture & Mountain Lifestyle
Hiwan operates year-round, weather dependent, and maintains a tight-knit membership culture. Unlike larger metro clubs, capacity is controlled, reinforcing a sense of community and accessibility.
It blends championship golf with a true mountain lifestyle — less formal than legacy clubs like Cherry Hills, more intimate than resort-style clubs like Inverness, and deeply rooted in Evergreen community life.
For families seeking cooler summers, natural surroundings, and a club that supports both competitive and recreational play, Hiwan offers a uniquely balanced experience.
Best For: Mountain residents and families seeking traditional private club culture with strong junior programming and full-scope lifestyle amenities.
