Fall in Denver is the season that makes me fall in love with this city all over again — crisp mornings, golden leaves, and that perfect mix of cozy and outdoorsy energy. If you’re ready to lean into the season, here are some of my favorite ways to do it right here in Denver.
🍂 Pumpkin Patches & Fall Fun
Nothing says fall like a good pumpkin patch day. Chatfield Farms Corn Maze & Pumpkin Festival is my go-to — you get the corn maze, hayrides, photo ops, and plenty of pumpkins to take home. If you’re up for a short drive, Anderson Farms takes it to the next level with a pumpkin cannon, farm animals, and more activities than you can possibly fit into one visit (the kids will sleep so well that night!).
🏈 Broncos Game Day
Tailgating at Empower Field is a Denver fall rite of passage. Even if you’re not the world’s biggest football fan, the energy is contagious. Pack up some snacks, layer up, and spend the afternoon with friends — bonus points if you score a PSL on the way.
🍺 Oktoberfest & Fall Sips
Denver’s downtown Oktoberfest is one of the city’s most beloved fall events. There’s something about brats, steins of beer, and live music that makes for a perfect weekend afternoon. Prefer something more low-key? Grab a sunny table at Biergarten at Lowry, or head to Ratio Beerworks or Bierstadt Lagerhaus for a proper slow-pour pilsner and some serious Oktoberfest vibes without the big crowds.
☕ Cozy Coffee Spots
Fall mornings are made for coffee dates. Little Owl Coffee is my minimalist happy place, Blue Sparrow Coffee is perfect for a RiNo stroll and some artsy energy, and Hudson Hill transitions beautifully from latte to cocktail hour — the best of both worlds.
🛍 Markets & Makers
One of my favorite fall weekend rituals is strolling through Horseshoe Market for local art, candles, and gifts (it’s a great way to start your holiday shopping early). And don’t miss the South Pearl Street Farmers Market before it wraps up for the season — there’s something so perfect about grabbing a coffee and walking the market on a crisp Sunday morning.
Pro Tip: Denver’s fall calendar fills up quickly — from pumpkin patches to Oktoberfest and Broncos game days. Reserve tickets, snag parking passes, and plan your weekends now so you can enjoy the season stress-free and make the most of every golden-hour moment.
